Ankylosing Spondylitis is a difficult disease to treat. It is caused by adverse autoimmune
reaction. To cut a long story short, the body ends up attacking itself,
destroying tissue and severely reducing joint mobility. Since this problem has
a genetic dimension to it, it may not be possible to avoid it completely.
Moreover, there is at present no cure for Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Yes this
is a depressing picture. However, there is still reason to stand up and fight.
Doctors and physiotherapists around the world say that Ankylosing Spondylitis
can be managed with proper and regular exercise. You may never regain complete
spine health, but with the right exercise, you can make sure that you can
continue to take an active part in your life without the worry of pain and
disability.
